Look, Ed, it turns out all you need to do to regain lost limbs is to... uh... Sesshoumaru, how DID you do that?

Not actually done; it needs moar lilies, but I don't feel like wearing my hand out painting lilies right now. Will do in the AM.
Inspired by 1) Kanketsu-Hen episode 20, 2) that filler episode with Sango and Kohaku and the lily field, and 3)the Evanescence song by the same name as the pic title. |

Felt like doin' some fanart for a book series I've been rereading (for like the zillionth time). It, uh...ended up being way more detailed than I'd planned.

It's symboliiicccc....
Or something. Had this idea for a while and finally drew it. The character in the corner means "burden".

Just a quickpaint, Because I am a loser and keep drawing my fan characters. ._.;;
Sooo...originally, Amako had brown eyes. But I realized Inu-Yasha has violet eyes in his human form (at least in the manga)....buuut Izayoi has brown eyes. So I decided to give Amako violet eyes so somebody else in his family has that color. >>; |

"HEY INUYASHA I HAS YOUR KONGOUSOUHA NOW >P"
I know Inu-Yasha doesn't have that nose in the anime, but if I didn't include it how could you tell?

XDD Yeah, the Kongousouha-stealing ended up about that ridiculous in the anime.
The problem with the anime going so fast is that it's easier to see just how often the "Enemy steals Inuyasha's attack and uses it on him" plot device gets recycled. First Mouryoumaru, then Kanna's mirror monster, then Sesshoumaru using a shard of Kanna's mirror monster, then Byakuya with Meidou Zangetsuha... and each is going to end up happening within a couple episodes of each other.

Inu-Yasha seriously needs to get Lifelock or something. Villains been stealin' his identity/attacks since before the first episode even started.
On the plus side, the rushing will take "He stole my goddamn attack again" from being MAJOR DRAMA every time to being a mild irritation, which I feel will make it less annoying to watch. |

Keep your eye on the goal, Mini-me. Someday, this is what you will become.

Lookin' good! I especially like the shading on Adult!Papa's kimono and hair. One suggestion, though; for smoother surfaces like little!Papa's jacket, you might want to increase the brush size while shading. The little brush here gave the hair, fur, and armor great texture, though!(Edited on October 15, 2009, 7:01 pm)

Your pictures always look so nice and sketchy but with good coloring and shading to make them look more complete. I keep trying to watch the animation to see what you do, but the layering always records funny so it's hard to see.

I actually tend to do pretty much everything with the round watercolor tool. Generally I do a really detailed sketch in blue with that tool, and then I tend to go over that on a top layer in black with the same tool; although sometimes I'll use the pen for linearts -- here for example out of laziness, but for "Drive" I used it to achieve more GAR. Either way, I pretty much never use the pencil tool. I don't like the hard line or the dithering you get with the pencil.
Usually I throw down the base color in pen, starting with the background so I can adjust my palette to it. Then I use the round watercolor again for my shading. Usually I try to pick a much darker main shadow color and block that out cell-shade-style first, before blending with shades in between. Hope that helps!...also I just realized I forgot to shade Tanetenma's haori. >>; Oops. |
