Not done, obvs. I've been working on some cosplay automail for a few days, so I wanted to try drawing it from memory, and automail is no fun unless it's attached to somebody. :P

How did Ed manage to get so big by the end of the series? The whole joke was that he was tiny! :P

Yeah, I remember them saying something about how he had a connection to Al's body in the other world and was supporting both, which was taking a toll on him. But... that still doesn't explain how he ended up taller than Winry by the end even before Al came back.
hanyou-no-miko @ Friday, July 30th 2010, 11:30 PM
Because puberty. :p He WAS only 15 when the series started, and Hoho-papa was a pretty broad-shouldered dude. My own brother was this scrawny kid at 15, and when I came back from school that summer the kid had shot up like a weed and suddenly become DBZ-muscular.

I was actually worried somebody would be like "wut he wasn't that big before the end of the series" except that in some screenshots he's like "o_o..."
Inu-papa @ Sunday, August 1st 2010, 10:50 AM
But if he hit puberty, why did he still sound so womanly? :P

I do have to wonder what is the obsession with having Shounen heroes voiced by women. Inuyasha and Ichigo are the only big ones who aren't. Naruto, Luffy, Ed, hell, even Goku and all his kids at every age were women. Do actual Japanese teenage boys actually sound like that?
hanyou-no-miko @ Sunday, August 1st 2010, 8:57 PM
The same reason Al still had a kid's voice at 16. :p

I...do not recall. D: Perhaps some do. I know at least girls seem to sound like...an octave higher speaking Japanese so maybe it applies to boys too (and this is an observation I've seen first-hand; the same girls speak an octave higher in Japanese than they do in English)? It's also hard for me to reconcile the stated ages of ANYone in Inu-Yasha with their appearances/voices so I never really thought of that. >>;

Not actually done; it needs moar lilies, but I don't feel like wearing my hand out painting lilies right now. Will do in the AM.

Inspired by 1) Kanketsu-Hen episode 20, 2) that filler episode with Sango and Kohaku and the lily field, and 3)the Evanescence song by the same name as the pic title.

Felt like doin' some fanart for a book series I've been rereading (for like the zillionth time). It, uh...ended up being way more detailed than I'd planned.

Just a quickpaint, Because I am a loser and keep drawing my fan characters. ._.;;

Sooo...originally, Amako had brown eyes. But I realized Inu-Yasha has violet eyes in his human form (at least in the manga)....buuut Izayoi has brown eyes. So I decided to give Amako violet eyes so somebody else in his family has that color. >>;

"HEY INUYASHA I HAS YOUR KONGOUSOUHA NOW >P"

I know Inu-Yasha doesn't have that nose in the anime, but if I didn't include it how could you tell?
Inu-papa @ Tuesday, October 27th 2009, 1:03 PM
XDD Yeah, the Kongousouha-stealing ended up about that ridiculous in the anime.

The problem with the anime going so fast is that it's easier to see just how often the "Enemy steals Inuyasha's attack and uses it on him" plot device gets recycled. First Mouryoumaru, then Kanna's mirror monster, then Sesshoumaru using a shard of Kanna's mirror monster, then Byakuya with Meidou Zangetsuha... and each is going to end up happening within a couple episodes of each other.
hanyou-no-miko @ Tuesday, October 27th 2009, 5:11 PM
Inu-Yasha seriously needs to get Lifelock or something. Villains been stealin' his identity/attacks since before the first episode even started.

On the plus side, the rushing will take "He stole my goddamn attack again" from being MAJOR DRAMA every time to being a mild irritation, which I feel will make it less annoying to watch.

Your pictures always look so nice and sketchy but with good coloring and shading to make them look more complete. I keep trying to watch the animation to see what you do, but the layering always records funny so it's hard to see.
hanyou-no-miko @ Tuesday, October 13th 2009, 6:03 PM
I actually tend to do pretty much everything with the round watercolor tool. Generally I do a really detailed sketch in blue with that tool, and then I tend to go over that on a top layer in black with the same tool; although sometimes I'll use the pen for linearts -- here for example out of laziness, but for "Drive" I used it to achieve more GAR. Either way, I pretty much never use the pencil tool. I don't like the hard line or the dithering you get with the pencil.

Usually I throw down the base color in pen, starting with the background so I can adjust my palette to it. Then I use the round watercolor again for my shading. Usually I try to pick a much darker main shadow color and block that out cell-shade-style first, before blending with shades in between. :D Hope that helps!

...also I just realized I forgot to shade Tanetenma's haori. >>; Oops.

Yet another Little!Yasha. I should really probably stop taking my bad moods out on this little guy.

As far as the technical aspects go, whadda you guys think?
Inu-papa @ Monday, August 3rd 2009, 9:31 AM
D'awwww, he needs a hug.

As for technical aspects, you're definitely a lot better at coloring and shading than I am. Heck, you even put backgrounds on your pictures. I'm just too lazy. ^_^*

Hahaaaa....I probably shouldn't draw stuff from my own prequel stuff here but OH WELL. (This is why Izayoi is dressed like this. She and Inu-Yasha are, for certain reasons, on the lam so to speak.) I had just realized I hadn't drawn a colored version of that outfit, and decided to oekaki. Hope nobody's too annoyed by it.

Also internets cookies if anybody gets the series-related visual pun going on with the basket.
Inu-papa @ Tuesday, July 7th 2009, 9:25 PM
Nah, you're allowed to draw whatever you like here. :P
